North Shore Streamkeepers
Joyce Mathieson

Joyce May Mathieson 1931 - 2016 Wife of Richard H Pearce, aged 85, died Sunday September 4th 2016 of lung complications from bronchiectasis.

Joyce was a delight to be around. Everything she touched she did well. I remember one of the first Streamkeeper meetings I attended. Joyce had been talking about something and the young fellow next to me said and she knows all the plant names in Latin. Joyce did a splendid collection of Newspaper Articles, stories, letters, 2-minute statement in the legislature, and photos from 1999 to 2012 in two large albums. A treasure for us about Streamkeepers work on the North Shore! If you dined at Dick & Joyce's, you would never forget itwonderfully delicious! On our 20th year Celebration as North Shore Streamkeepers, Joyce made a marvelous Cake. I am thankful to have known Joyce and to have learned from her graceful style of living.

A Streamkeeper Extrordinaire, a champion for her local creek and an inspiration for other Streamkeepers. Saddened to hear of her passing. Our thoughts are with Dick, their friends and family
