A resident of North Saanich for thirty years, she loved its birds, gardens and people. As a clown, African Granny, tree hugger, shore keeper, active and engaged participant in local and international Anglican church activities, AIDS supporter, Save the Children Fund award recipient, book reader, music lover and traveller in antique lands, she enlivened the world around her, and frequently gave it a spin.

Port McNeill Chinook Club

Raymond worked for CANFOR from the age of 16, he worked his way up to superintendent at Beaver Cove Log Sort until his retirement in 1990. Even after his retirement he still continued to check up on the sort almost daily. Raymond and his family lived in a few logging caps before moving permanently to Port McNeill in 1974. Raymond joined the Lions in 1975 and was a valued member till his passing. Raymond had a passion for fishing and also chartered. His shacks at Barnett pass were well known to many and he made many long time friends. In 1986 Raymond started Kokish Fish Hatchery and watched over it like a new born baby. He had received much recognition for his hard work in Salmon Enhancement and in his community.
He was the cornerstone for his family, his friends and his community. He is gone but never forgotten, always in our hearts. We would like to thank the special people at Eagle Ridge for their caring of Raymond. He enjoyed their smiles so much.

He moved to Port Coquitlam in 1948, and Merritt in 2005. His love of fishing and hunting at an early age directed his career into the field of conservation. After some years with the CPR and CNR, he served as Executive Director of the BC Wildlife Federation for 9 years, and was the Sports fishing Advisor/Ombudsman for Department of Fisheries for some 12 years. After retiring, he continued serving on several committees to help preserve fishing for sportsmen and women for the future. He never wavered against his convictions for the sake of popularity either from fellow sportsmen or government. Bill had the honour of receiving several awards throughout his life from Ducks Unlimited, BC Wildlife Federation, several Conservation Organizations and Rod and Gun Clubs. He was the recipient of the Winchester Outdoorsman of the Year Award in 1982, and the Canada Recreational Fisheries Award in 2003.
