A Brief History on SEP Community Workshops

May 3-5, 1991, the first SEP Community Conference was held in Port Hardy, BC, in order to recognize the enhancement community. The focus was to be on the volunteers and their contribution to the Pacific fishery (although it was open to anyone to attend).
This tradition continued on a biennial basis and the next SEP Community Workshop was held June 4-6, 1993, in Port Moody. The purpose of the workshop expanded to provide volunteers with a chance to learn new skills, share ideas, and have fun!
Thereafter, the event has continued to present, celebrating community participation and showcasing local fisheries, watershed stewardship, and conservation initiatives
