Biologist Sandra Milligan will lead the exploration to uncover the common and not-so –common species of upper-, mid-, especially low-intertidal zone. We will observe the challenges of living in the intertidal zone and the different strategies animals use to eat and not be eaten. You will meet the ‘bully of the beach’, beautiful nudibranchs, a variety of sea stars, gastropods and dozens of algae. Snacking opportunities exist for the more adventurous. Please wear rubber boots as your feet must get wet to access the lowest intertidal areas. Note that the footing is quite slippery for part of the walk. |
