Streamside Protection Implementation Workshop

Speech given By Zo Ann Morten October 10, 2001 at the Streamside Protection Implementation Workshop meeting,
at the Delta Airport Hotel, Richmond, BC.

The figures and measurements of healthy, intact buffer zones, have been determined / clarified as a direct response to the people of BC, who have asked for the protection of our environment.

The basic streamside setback standards are not new science, they are commonplace and can be found in many guidelines, regulations and habitat protection literature. This legislation was endorsed and embraced by those who represent us at the UBCM prior to it going before the Provincial cabinet and again being supported.
